Loud City Podcast

I was invited to guest co-host an episode of Seen Doc’s Loud City podcast. Cody and Steve have been busy filming around the city, putting together their upcoming documentary about the local music scene. Along with Tom Shea of 100 Mile Microphone (a fantastic local music site), they started up a podcast to discuss local music and share it with listeners.

Friends and fellow Hamilton supporters Mark Furukawa (Dr. Disc) and Kirby had each already taped an episode and I was excited to be next in line. As it turned out, it was episode #8, my birth date, so it was meant to be! It also served as a nice promo for my birthday fundraiser show.

It was difficult to decide on which tunes to choose (my faves New Hands and Illitry had already been chosen in previous episodes!) but I settled on two bands that were about to play my birthday show. I spun Redanda’s Bob Marley cover of “Waiting in Vain” and The Great Machine’s “Leave the Light On.”

I also chose a new discovery for me, Gdansk, playing their newest single “Atlas,” and my current favourite Cowlick tune, “I Wanna Be Your Man.” My other pick was Matt Paxton’s “Shore Pine Walk,” which Cody chose, so that worked out. He also selected a song by Christine Leakey.

Thanks to the Loud City crew for having me on the show. Be sure to listen to the podcast!
