The Downtown Hamilton BIA has kicked off their annual season of Summer Promenade events in Gore Park. The Promenade runs through until August 29th – see the Facebook event for the full rundown. I was thrilled to be asked to make it an I Heart Hamilton themed day and broadcast my show on 93.3 CFMU live from Gore Park.
I also got to choose the live music for the day, and it was easy choice to ask Hands & Teeth to come rock out in the park. They’ll also be playing I Heart Hamilton’s The Playlist 3.0 (Fundraiser for Food4Kids) this Saturday, June 7th at This Ain’t Hollywood. In the meantime, check out the video I took of their set, performing their song “Easy.”
It was a beautiful day and the energy in the park was amazing. Seeing everyone out and about, getting some lunch from one of several food trucks, playing games (there were giant Jenga and chess sets!) and just enjoying the day was so lovely to see.
I could not have had better guests for the show if I tried. Everyone was fantastic and what they’re doing in the city are all perfect examples of why I – you guessed it – Heart Hamilton!
Big thanks to CFMU’s Community Outreach Coordinator Tyler Welch for all the help and to Jamie Tennant back at the studio for all the support and playing the tunes! And thank you to Kerry, Danielle, and all of the Downtown Hamilton BIA team for having me and for throwing such a fantastic event.
“I Heart Hamilton” airs Fridays 2-3PM on 93.3 CFMU
