I Heart Hamilton is excited to premiere the brand new music video from prolific Hamilton-based musician, The Dill!
“Leaving The Band” is taken from The Dill (a.k.a. Dylan Hudecki)’s Beside album, released one year ago. The album features music that spilled over from his debut LP, Greetings From, released in 2018. That album itself was a ‘best of’ compilation from a bountiful time of creating, which saw The Dill releasing his project 52 – a giant 52 song, 52 playing card, 113 person collaborative artistic project, that was 15 years in the making. For this new video, The Dill is seen in a familiar spot that we have all been over the past couple of years – on Zoom!
From the artist:
“‘Leaving the Band’, it’s an ode to my old band, By Divine Right. I was a green musician when I met them, and they took a chance on me and brought me all over the world to play music. ‘Flying over land, will I ever understand,’ was about flying to tour Australia, for example. Leaving a band isn’t always an easy decision. Many times it’s very complicated and is not without its pros and cons. You can sort of hear my contemplation and sadness about it being a reality in the delivery. I played every instrument on the song and I’m quite proud of that, as I learned so much about music and life and recording while in that band during such a formative time in my life. And yes, I did in fact meet Charlie Sheen, I was an extra in a movie he made called Rated X.”
