Punch Bowl Country Market 136 Ridge Road, Stoney Creek

After my trip to Stoney Creek Dairy and being full from all the ice cream, it was up to the Punch Bowl to have a stretch at the Market. We drove up the steep, winding New Mountain Road to get there. I always seem to forget how fast you can be out in the country, rural areas just outside of Hamilton.

It’s so cute and homey; I don’t remember ever having visited the Punch Bowl Country Market before, but maybe I have as a kid. Still joined by my parents, we picked up a basket of peaches and some delicious field tomatoes. Seriously, I have not had tomatoes like those in years! It was the exact flavour I had been looking for.

I was also drawn to the shelves of jams and jellies, and just had to pick one out. Sticking with my Black Cherry flavour of the day, that made for an easy choice. There is also a scrumptious looking bakery, and as I eyed the rows and rows of treats, suffice it to say, I wanted to eat everything in sight.

Leaving the Market, I had to walk to the edge of the road and take in the brilliant view of the city. As coincidence would have it, new local blog Best of Hamilton had just released their first video a couple of days prior which beautifully captures The Devil’s Punch Bowl like I’ve never seen, along with some shots of the Market.

It was a good little day in the Creek!
