Dr. Disc 20 Wilson Street
Lesson learned from last summer: don’t put balloons up in the window of Dr. Disc, because they are ticking time bombs that will pop, causing the record store’s alarm system to go off and wake up owner Mark Furukawa to an startling phone message.
Luckily, Mark let me have another go at the window. For The Playlist 2.0, I decided to forgo the balloons and streamers in lieu of some patterned heart shapes (that I cut out myself, freehand, thank you very much). That morning, I grabbed a large coffee from Homegrown Hamilton on my way in (I was going to need a boost!) and set to work.
With help from intern Sam, we took down the previous display. I laid all my materials down in front of me and contemplated my idea to make a heart shape out of the posters. Sure enough, it worked!
After that, it was lunch at Mulberry and then over to This Ain’t Hollywood to record a podcast with Gunner Smith to promote the show. As always, it was a fun chat with Gunner and we spun some tunes from the featured performers at The Playlist 2.0. Take a listen on Gunner’s site.
Preparing for the show is almost as much fun for me as the show itself!
