Dr. Disc 20 Wilson Street

Dr. Disc and This Ain’t Hollywood have teamed up to bring you “The Saint Sessions” – in-store performances at Dr. Disc to promote an upcoming show at The Saint.

As luck would have it, the first Saint Session fell on June 8th, the night of I Heart Hamilton’s The Playlist 2.0. Mark of Dr. Disc sent me off to rally one of the bands I booked for the fundraiser show. I was happy to get Luke and Dave of The Dirty Nil to put together an acoustic set.

When you think The Nil, you obviously don’t think acoustic, but the guys adapted their tunes, along with a couple covers, and it sounded awesome. Hearing songs like “Zombie Eyed” and “Little Metal Baby Fist” stripped down like that was really cool. With a small crowd gathered in the basement of Dr. Disc, Luke and Dave performed with the same rawness and charm as always.

Be on the lookout for upcoming “Saint Sessions” in the weeks to come. Surrounded by vinyl, it’s a great setting to see your favourite act.
